The Government’s Extended Services Initiative is intended to meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community. Schools are deemed to be at the heart of the community and are ideally placed to provide access to a range of opportunities, activities and support. Schools are not expected to provide or offer all services from their own sites but will endeavour to ensure that services are available locally.
