Here is our summary for Autumn 2:

This half term, Year 4's learning will be based all around C.S. Lewis' novel, 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. In English, we will be exploring a range of text types such as narratives, newspaper reports, character descriptions and informal letters. Children will independently complete extended writing based on these text types, using a range of grammatical features from the Year 4 curriculum such as: adverbial phrases, subordinating conjunctions and dialogue. Alongside this, children will be using a range of sentence structures by using 'Alan Peat' sentences. This half term we will be using, 2A , double-ly, 3-ed and 'NOUN which, who were' sentences. In maths, we will be learning about simple multiplication and division. By the end of Year 4, the children need to know up to their 12 times tables. There are videos online that will help them learn them through song! ​We will also be covering perimeter and area, where the children can apply their GREAT place value understanding. In science, we will be learning about the 'States of Matter', where the children will discover the different properties of solids, liquids and gases. In R.E, we will be learning about why people follow Jesus and what makes a good leader. During P.E. the children will be covering dance and fitness.
